Welcome to Farlington Boarding House which is a comfortable and friendly house where evenings (after prep!) are relaxed and fun with a great emphasis on individual attention whilst keeping a sense of community. There is a genuine family feel. This is partly due to the large age-range of our boarders which means that everyone can mix together with girls of all ages. Friendly staff and girls alike help each other with their work and with life’s stresses; there is always an active ear available for anyone who needs it!

Girls who stay for weekends are treated to an immensely varied and adventurous programme.  Every activity originates from suggestions from the girls – in fact we encourage them to be as imaginative as possible and try new things constantly.

As with any element of school life, the best way to really understand what boarding at Farlington is like is to visit and speak to the staff and girls.  Prospective pupils are always welcome to join us for ‘taster nights’, a great way for girls to experience all that is on offer at first hand.

Boarders’ Welcome

Boarding at Farlington is great fun and even though it is a small boarding house (there are only 40 of us!) it means you get to know everyone really well and your friends here become your second family!

There’s always loads going on, from DVD nights when everyone piles into the dayroom on beanbags, eating popcorn and watching the latest film (bought from the legendary Tesco the Friday before), to long running jokes that always seem to creep into the famous Boarders Christmas Entertainment.

If you are a younger girl you will be in one of the newly decorated dorms with others your age and as you reach Year 10, you will be in double rooms usually with friends you made during your time in the dorms downstairs!  By Sixth Form you have your own room which is great because, on top of being able to do your work quietly, you don’t have anyone to argue with about what type of music to have on!

Everyone helps one another out and there is always someone to give you a helping hand.  The boarding house staff are fantastic and are always there if you need anything.  It is natural to feel homesick but we hope that, like us, you will love it here!  The House is very relaxed and the few rules we do have are usually there to make sure you’re in bed on time and that you don’t end up hurting yourself when having pillow fights.

This is our final year at Farlington and we are going to miss it loads!
