Bursaries
The school offers means tested bursaries for all prospective and current pupils from Year 5 upwards.
The main bursary award process is carried out in the first half of the Spring Term and applications, therefore, should be made in the second half of the preceding autumn term.
Subject to available funds, applications for bursaries will be considered at other times of the year, on a half-termly basis if parental circumstances change unexpectedly.
Farlington Foundation
Farlington has thrived as an Independent Girls’ School for over a century and has been financed purely from fee income. Unlike some of the more prominent boys’ schools, Farlington does not have a financial reservoir of funds to call upon.
From time to time specific appeals have been successfully launched to help the School with new building projects. The Farlington Foundation was set up in 2005. It is hoped that this will establish funds to provide bursaries and/or scholarships for promising pupils where there is difficulty in being able to pay full fees. With the existing funds carefully invested in a tax-free charity account, it is hoped that money for bursaries or other forms of support will gradually become available.
Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded on merit. There is no automatic fee reduction for scholarship awards; instead there is an automatic study support grant of £100 per term, payable directly to the Scholar. Scholarships will be held for the duration of the girl’s time at Farlington, subject to annual review.
There will be public recognition of Scholars and all girls who maintain their scholarships until they leave will be further acknowledged on their final Speech Day |
