A Level Results 2010

Farlington Sixth Form girls celebrated stunning A-level success this year. 53% of all grades were A*/A, almost double the national average, with over a third of the girls gaining straight A*/A’s.

Headmistress Jonnie Goyer said, “These fantastic results are a great tribute to the hard work and commitment of the girls and their teachers, and they are fully deserved.  The value of a strong work ethic, small classes and individual attention could hardly be more clearly demonstrated.  I am delighted that the girls’ efforts have been so well rewarded, particularly in a year when the competition for university places is so intense. These terrific young women have not only achieved highly at A-level but have also been able to secure their futures with university places of their choice.”

GCSE Results

Farlington girls achieved excellent GCSE results enabling them to move with confidence to the next stage of their academic careers. 52% of all grades were A*/A; 15 % of girls achieved 100% A*/A grades, and 95% of girls achieved A*-C.

All the girls are to be congratulated on their hard work and well deserved success. Headmistress, Jonnie Goyer said, “These excellent results are a great reflection of Farlington’s ethos. We are, deliberately, not an academic hot-house because we believe education is about far more than passing examinations. Our girls range in ability from average to outstanding – and they have all done themselves proud, achieving results beyond expectations, but not at the expense of everything else that matters; confidence, happiness, moral and spiritual growth and the opportunity to pursue interests and talents outside the classroom. I am very proud of each and every girl and all that she has achieved.”
