The Lower School (Years 7, 8 & 9)

The Lower School Curriculum is based on the National Curriculum, offers more challenge and a broader range of subjects.  Most of the teaching  takes place in Form groups, though some subjects are set as appropriate.  Decisions are made at the end of Year 7 as to which two languages are studied and a further decision about Latin is made at the end of Year 8.  The full list of subjects studied in the Lower School is available in the Prospectus.

The Upper School (Years 10 & 11)

In the Upper School, the girls undertake their GCSE courses.  Core subjects at GCSE are English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology).  Science is offered as either a Double or Triple award.  The School follows the IGCSE syllabus for Science and for some of the Mathematics groups, as appropriate.
