Why choose Farlington Boarding

Why board at Farlington?

The Farlington Boarding House provides a relaxed, caring environment, as much like home as possible. There are rules, but these are kept to a minimum, with the emphasis on those that are essential to the girls' well being.
We believe Farlington's Boarding House is -

  • a place where girls can grow into independent adults, taking on more responsibility as they grow older.
  • a place where they learn to do their best at everything - and not mind if they don't succeed at the first attempt.
  • a place where the girls are accepted for themselves, where they are encouraged to be kind and considerate of one another's needs.
  • a place where they can mix with other students of similar ages irrespective of race, religion, cultural and linguistic background.
  • a place full of happy memories.

Full or weekly boarding is offered, and there are "Taster Evenings" where girls can try out boarding for one night, as well as occasional boarding, where parents can have their daughter stay in our care while they are away.

Dormitories vary in size (from 4 to 6 girls) but older girls - those in Year 11 and the Lower Sixth Form - usually share study bedrooms with one other girl. Upper Sixth girls have single study bedrooms.

At the weekends there is always an organised programme of activities. Often the boarders go ice skating or visit London and take in a West End play or a ballet at Covent Garden. Sometimes it is a simple activity such as a visit to the cinema or shopping, either locally or at a deluxe mall. Girls also have the opportunity to attend church services on Sunday, if they wish.
