At Farlington we are very fortunate to have active and enthusiastic parents and this is reflected in a proactive PTA. Below is a brief insight into Farlington PTA; who we are, and what we do for the school.
All Farlington parents/guardians are automatically members of the PTA. There is a core committee, including appointed officers, which meets each half-term. All members of the PTA are welcome at these meetings.
The PTA has two main roles:
Fundraising for the school
Organising social activities/events
Our fundraising activities are for the benefit of present and future pupils. Our main fundraising activities are the annual Christmas Gift Fair, usually held in November, and our Second Hand Uniform Shop. The funds raised are used to enrich the girls’ school life beyond curricula activities. This may include the purchase of items suggested by the school or the girls or contributions to larger projects that the school and PTA jointly fund.
Our other remit, the social element, is primarily for fun! We arrange social events for the girls, parents and teaching staff. These range from small coffee gatherings within a class to larger all-school social events.
