Windsor Castle
On Friday 9th December, Year Six made their annual visit to Windsor Castle to learn about Christmas during the reign of Queen Victoria. Despite the cold weather the girls had a fabulous day looking round the state apartments and St George’s Chapel. They were able to handle several Victorian artefacts from the royal household; from polished, wooden, riding boot hooks to copper pans and jelly moulds that were used in the Windsor kitchens 150 years ago. Although the queen was not in residence that day (only the union flag was flying) the girls did manage to catch a glimpse of her as she and her entourage passed by on the M4! A perfect end to the day.
