Tate Modern

A very enjoyable day was spent by Year 4 at the Tate Modern Gallery in London. They were looking at different types of art and trying to answer the question ‘What is art?’.

The girls saw that there were a variety of types of art – from paintings, sculptures, photographs, film and installations. The girls made sketches of the pieces they liked the best and over the next few weeks will be creating their own ‘masterpieces’ in a similar style. After discussion, the girls agreed that something is art if it is ‘creative’.
