Early Years Foundation Curriculum
Nursery Curriculum
Since September 2008, the Early Years Foundation Stage has been the mandatory framework within all settings from birth, to the end of the academic year in which a child has his/her fifth birthday.
The principles from the framework, which guide the work of all our staff, are:-
- A unique child
- Positive relationships
- Enabling environments
- Learning and development
The curriculum is organised into six strands of learning, each one being equally important, and none delivered in isolation to the others. They are:-
- Creative Development
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
- Knowledge and Understanding of the world
