What we get up to
Whether we are learning a new sound in “Jolly Phonics”, playing a “match the number game”, learning computer skills, going on a “Wellie walk” around the school grounds or playing the role as a patient in the “Doctor’s Surgery”, you can be assured that the girls are always occupied, increasing their skills and having fun!
Reception Class members start to play a full part in Farlington life, and although many may not become five years old until towards the end of the year, they quickly learn to embrace new routines. This could mean attending morning assembly, having a Music Lesson with our specialist teacher, being collected by their “House Buddy” from an older class to take them to our House Commendation Assembly, or enjoying the dedicated Early Years play area, with many more opportunities to learn and explore.
It may be time for swimming (every week the trip in the minibus becomes more fun, and the packed lunch in the classroom afterwards is one of the highlights of the week!)
It could be time for one of the extra curricular lessons in Ballet or Yoga and Well-Being, or, if you are being collected a little later than the normal finishing time, it will be an opportunity to have fun with those girls a little older, in the After-School Club.
Whatever day it is, we work hard and play hard… and look forward to tomorrow!
