Science Museum
Prep 6 girls enjoyed a fun-filled, fascinating journey into the world of science on Monday, 21 November when the entire year group visited the wonders of the Science Museum in London.
On arrival, the first port of call was a journey to the centre of the Earth, courtesy of the IMAX 3D cinema. The girls were transported deep into the action with the crystal-clear images on an 11,600-watt digital, surround sound system and a screen taller than four double-decker buses!
There was time for a quick trip to one of the other levels to check out the weird and wonderful exhibits, before sitting in the foyer area for a quick bite of lunch. Early in the afternoon, we headed for our time slot in the “Launchpad” gallery. This was a wonderful “hands on” area where the girls could touch, feel and experiment in an exciting interactive environment. They could initiate explosions, view ice crystals, watch giant bubbles being blown and feel vibrations travel through a liquid, to name but a few of the activities on offer.
Unfortunately, time always whizzes by incredibly quickly when you’re having so much fun and, by 2.15 pm, it was time to return to the coach for our journey home.
An amazing day was had by all!
Visit the Gallery for more photos. Libraries (on right of screen) - Photos - and then select the appropriate Gallery under Prep School.
