Critical Thinking
This course is taught within the Year 7 curriculum. Through presentations, quizzes, worksheets and different learning methods, girls are taught to question information, to ask relevant and searching questions, and to use research as a tool to enable them to become independent learners. The girls are able to try different learning styles to find which method best suits them, as well as practising different study skills such as mind mapping and effective note taking. During the year pupils prepare and give presentations; this encourages research as well as developing verbal skills. Critical Thinking underpins all academic subjects and is vital in today's information-rich society.
