ICT
ICT is an important and rigorous academic discipline, which is valued by universities and employers alike. Equally importantly, ICT is an essential life skill, which aids communication and furthers education in its widest sense. We want young people to share our enthusiasm and conviction that the study of ICT is a mind-broadening, useful and exciting activity.
ICT is a timetabled subject and by the end of Year 8 girls should be proficient in all aspects that will lead to a short course GCSE, which girls begin in Year 9 and complete in Year 10.
All girls have access to the student network, their own email address and the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE.) Pupils are expected to abide by an ICT Code of Conduct which is signed by them and countersigned by parents.Girls are encouraged to use technology in their research for projects and topics, as well as producing word processed work of high quality. The ICT Room is used by many subjects in addition to the timetabled ICT lessons and it is also available to girls at break times, lunch times and during supervised Prep. The girls can access the VLE and email from home so that they can keep up to date with assignments.
