OCR MEI A level
Mathematics is very popular here in the Sixth Form. You will follow a modular course,
completing three modules in Lower Sixth and three in Upper Sixth. An A Level in Further Mathematics requires an additional six modules, studied over the two years. The syllabus is divided into two areas: Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (this includes Mechanics, Statistics and Decision Mathematicas.) AS and A2 Level Mathematics are intellectually challenging courses and highly valued by universities and employers; they also complement the study of A Level Sciences and Arts.
UKMT Mathematics Challenges
Selected girls compete in the individual competitions at Junior, Intermediate and Senior levels. We regularly achieve Gold, Silver and Bronze awards at all three levels. Those who perform exceptionally well go through to compete in the follow-up Olympiad or Kangaroo competitions.
